Professor Batcheller joined the Studio Art faculty in Fall 2009.  Her paintings are visual links to experience that oscillate between seeing something, and the sensation of that something. Born of observation and memory, the work acts as a visual correlate of reflection and active interpretation of location, and a deep-rooted interest in the relationship between structure and place, rational and irregular.  She has shown her work extensively in Seattle, as well as shows in Philadelphia, Richmond and Europe.  Her work has also been published in Robert Fulghum’s novel, Third Wish Granted.
