I am from Columbus, OH, so Denison was not a very far trek for me! I have a self-designed concentration in Environmental Management and have a very wide variety of interests. I love to teach children and have worked as a naturalist in an environmental education center for three years. I also did an internship this summer with the Ohio Environmental Council, a nonprofit environmental advocacy organization near Columbus. After I graduate I plan to work and volunteer for a year or two, and I expect I will eventually attend graduate school.

I am an Environmental Studies and Violin Music Performance double major with a minor in Biology. I'm from Yarmouth, Maine. I love puppies, music, dance, horseback riding, and quiet walks on the beach.... I've spent two summers researching restoration wetland ecology. I'd like to continue work in the fields of ecosystem management of aquatic environments and/or water quality conservation.

I am originally from Buffalo, NY, and I have a self-designed Sustainable Development concentration. The environmental issues that most interest me are sustainable agriculture and community food security. Last summer, I had the opportunity to intern at The Rodale Institute, where I lived in a shed and learned about the ecological importance of sustainable farming methods. Last Fall I studied international development and Spanish in Ecuador with the MSID program. After graduating, I plan to spend 1-2 years working with a volunteer program.

My greatest environmental interests are the problems with the current agriculture and energy systems in the United States. My senior project is questioning the possibility of making Denison's energy sources sustainable as our first solar panels are installed on the Library rooftop this year. Spending a semester in Costa Rica studying sustainable development and tropical ecology helped me realize the need to enact change within our own country, especially dealing with consumption patterns and political policies. I'm currently spending my first year at the Homestead trying to learn as much as I can about living sustainability before I leave Camp Denidoo for either law school or a life as a river guide out West.
