Student Environmental Campaigns: The President's Climate Commitment

Green Team began a campaign in fall 2007 for Denison to sign a college compact called the President’s Climate Commitment that puts the universities on a track to reducing their greenhouse gas emissions so that they eventually become carbon neutral.

The commitment, which over 490 college presidents have signed already, requires universities to complete an emissions inventory, come up with their own track to become carbon neutral within two years of signing it and take immediate action with small steps to reduce their emissions.

Green Team collected close to 900 petition signatures of support from Denison students during the fall 2007 semester, but Denison has not yet signed the commitment.
