Recycled Paper Campaign

In November 2007, President Dale Knobel issued a directive that departments should only purchase 100 percent post-consumer recycled paper, following a successful campaign led by students from Denison Progressive Alliance organizations, including DURP, ALL and Green Team.

Students advocated that the university adopt a smart paper policy that would involve purchasing only 100 percent post-consumer recycled chlorine-free paper for all copying and printing on campus. In doing so, they talked with campus departments, both academic and non-academic, Office Services and the students.

As of February 2008, a great deal of departments and printing stations were using only 100 percent post-consumer recycled paper. Some are still in transition because they are testing the product on their copy machines.
