In addition to this web page, Barney-Davis Hall has many other information sources regarding the environmental renovation. The Barney User's Guide serves as an other reference for the technologies and companies employed in the renovation. Binders filled with renovation specifications are also on-hand as well as the blueprints and plans associated with all the phases of Barney-Davis Hall.

One of Barney's main goals was, and still remains, to employ technologies, features, and policies aimed to promote sustainable development and living. The building has many green features, some more pronounced than others, utilized in its interior and exterior design. This section highlights some of the environmental technologies implemented within the building and allows you to take a virtual tour of many of Barney's spaces.

This is the main hallway of the first floor. The corridor makes great use of transoms, which allow natural light to pass through the classrooms and into this space. The hall also is tiled with the marble tiles of the original building.

The marble tile work that was used in Barney's original design still remains in many of the halls of the renovated building. Reusing these beautiful tiles eliminated the need to purchase new materials.

Barney's GIS lab is connected to the internet via fiber optic cables. Data transmission is carried through glass, a renewable resource, instead of traditional copper wires and cables. One fiber optic strand can replace many copper wires and thus significantly reduces the use of the metal resource.

All of the carpeting used in Barney-Davis Hall is made entirely of recycled plastic bottles. The carpets are incredibly durable and add to the aesthetics of the building.
