Abstract
The Burgess Shale yields a unique collection of many soft-bodied fossils. It paints a picture
of the Cambrian world for geologists. In
The Fossils of the Burgess Shale, Derek Briggs, Douglas
Erwin, and Frederick Collier reveal this picture to those of us without ready access to the
Burgess Shale. This book review examines how well these authors go about this task as well as
suggesting what the likely audience may be.
