HNRS 129-01: Movement Analysis
This course is for those who love to move. It is also for those who are intrigued by movement wherever it's the main subject, in sports, dance, theater, physical therapy or the work place. This course digs into the efficiency, complexity, simplicity and beauty of many different kinds of movement. It will teach a "methodology" that will help the participants become not only sharp observers but also more responsive and versatile movers. The core of this course will reside in Laban Movement Analysis (LMA) and will reveal how Body, Effort, Shape and Space (BESS) live and flourish in every move we make. Motif Notation will give the student a practical and fun writing tool for remembering, clarifying and improving the movement experience. The course includes a good amount of DVD and YouTube observation.
