B.A. in Computer Science and Communication from Denison University, 2003

After graduating from DU, I attended Rochester Institute of Technology. During my first quarter I was recruited by Microsoft. Having always dreamed of living in Seattle, I accepted the offer. I wrapped up my MS in Computer Science in 15 months and completed a research project on computer vision and background elimination of multi-modal backgrounds. Denison gave me a significant theoretical background and enabled my success in graduate school and beyond.
At Microsoft I work for the Exchange product unit, focusing on Outlook Web Access and Wireless Sync (email on handheld devices), as well as other Client Access Server role features. I've found the liberal arts aspect of my education and the balance with my Communications second major have enabled me to be successful in large scale software projects, fostering interpersonal communication, cross-group collaboration and the ability to influence without authority.
