2004 New Music Festival
Denison University announces its first New Music Festival to be held from February 27-29, 2004. Any composer may submit works for any combination of the following: fl, cb, cl, bsn, sax, hn, tpt, tbn, pf, perc, SATB voices, vn, va, vc, db, and SATB chamber choir. Submissions of electro-acoustic music are also welcomed, including pieces for live electronics, acoustic soloist or ensemble and electronics, interactive, or playback alone. ADAT and CD playback, a MacIntosh G4 computer, and various keyboards and synthesizers are available. Each composer may submit up to two works. There is no established limit on duration but feasibility of performance will be a consideration. Composers may provide their own performers and should indicate such with their submission. Attendance at the conference is required of all composers whose works will be performed.
Postmark deadline: October 15, 2003. Submissions must include: score, with indication of duration and any technical requirements; cassette or CD recording; SASE; and a separate page with composer's name, address, telephone numbers, e-mail address, and list of pieces submitted with durations and specification of any technical requirements, especially for electro-acoustic works. Please also indicate if you are willing to provide your own performers. All composers whose compositions have been selected will be notified by December 15, 2003.
