Cora Kuyvenhoven is affiliate cello instructor at Denison University and assistant principal for ProMusica Chamber Orchestra. Recent performances include solo cello obbligato in the Holocaust Cantata with the OSU Chorale, Mendelssohn's Octet presented with Liberty Presbyterian concert series and solo Bach in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  Cora has performed solos and duos with ADVENDO (Mary Harris and Cora) on all three concerts of the Denison University New Music Festival, "Tutti," performing works by Crossman, ("Flyer" cello solo with Kalistos) Chambers, Sorkin and Brings.  For the past three summers Cora has been a cello instructor, continuo player, and spiritual mentor at MasterWorks Summer Festival in Indiana.  Recent concerts with ADVENDO featured works by Brings, Chambers, Hindemith, Clark, Lutoslawski and Beethoven.  


Previous symphonic, opera, and solo concerto experience with the Toronto Symphony, Canadian Opera Company, Welsh Hills Plymouth, and Windsor Symphony has brought Cora to Europe, Asia and Australia.  Cora received her ARCT from the Royal Conservatory of Music (Toronto), MFA from the U. of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and DMA from the U. of Iowa.  Some honors include the Iowa Performance Fellowship and the Pelzer Competition Fellowship and finalist in the Canadian National Music Competition.  Currently Cora lives in Columbus with her husband Martin Spencer, and their two children, Carmina and Benjamin.
