Karen is a graduate of Miami University with Bachelor of Science in Music Education. She grew up in Columbus, Ohio, and has studied piano from the age of seven. Karen and her husband John have three children (which include twin girls).  Karen has taught tradional piano, accompanied her church youth choir and volunteered to accompany in schools which included OMEA solo and ensemble contest while working parttime as a teller for Huntington National Bank.  Karen was introduced to the Suzuki Method as a Suzuki mom for her son Andrew who studied at Capital University with John Carter from 1991-2001.  Karen received her Suzuki training from Mary Craig Powell (books 1 through 3).  She has since studied with Jane Kutscher and is currently studying with Seymour Fink.  Karen currently teaches Suzuki in her home in Pickerington, Ohio and enjoys her new roll as grandma for her one-year-old grandson Jason.
