Transfer into ATEP

This athletic training education program (ATEP) requires a four-year commitment.  It is not permissible for a student to complete any aspect of this ATEP at another institution of higher education. 

  • One year to prepare and complete the ATEP application process
  • Six sequential semesters of clinical progression once ATEP admission is earned.  

PHED 350-81 General Medical Conditions I:  Fall Sophomore Year

PHED 350-82 General Medical Conditions II:  Spring Sophomore Year

PHED 350-83 Upper Extremities:  Fall Junior Year

PHED 350-84 Lower Extremities:  Spring Junior Year

PHED 350-85 Padding Intensive:  Fall Senior Year

PHED 350-86 Rehabilitation:  Spring Senior Year


All Athletic Training Education Programs, (ATEP's) are based upon the nationally accepted athletic training educational competencies and each ATEP distributes these competencies differently. The ATEP from which a student graduates is required to document that each graduate has been presented with an intrinsically coherent educational sequence and demonstrated cognitive competence, psychomotor competence, and clinical proficiency according to the program's unique educational sequence.
