Transfer into ATEP
It is undesirable for students to transfer into, or apply for admission into this Athletic Training Education Program, ATEP, at anytime after their first year of college experience. Transfer students and Denison Sophomore through Senior level students can be considered for admission into this ATEP assuming the following conditions are satisfied.
- The ATEP class into which the student proposes to transfer has no greater than four athletic training students already admitted.
- The applicant has documentation of 100 observation hours with a practicing athletic trainer.
- Course syllabus for each of the ATEP prerequisite courses that were completed at another institution must be submitted as part of the ATEP admission application.
- *The ATEP applicant must be willing to retake any required component of this ATEP initially completed at another institution.
- A completed ATEP admission application submitted to this ATEP's Director no later than October 31st, 2005.
- Prospective ATEP applicant must be able to complete all ATEP Graduation Requirements prior to the student's anticipated Denison University graduation date.
- Application for ATEP admission must be submitted prior to October 31st of the first academic year at Denison University.
- ATEP Admission materials for these ATEP applicants will be forwarded to the ATEP admission committee on November 1st. Interviews will be conducted soon after November 1st.
*All Athletic Training Education Programs, (ATEP's) are based upon the nationally accepted athletic training educational competencies and each ATEP distributes these competencies differently. The ATEP from which a student graduates is required to document that each graduate has been adequately educated on each of these competencies. If you take a component of this ATEP at another institution we can not guarantee that you have been adequately educated on each of the required educational competencies. It is therefore this ATEP's obligation to insist that each ATEP student progress through each part of this ATEP within the Denison University academic community.
