The Alpha Nu Chaper of Pi Sigma Alpha was founded at Denison University on November 5, 1947. Students are selected as members based on their academic excellence in the field of political science.

Members of the Alpha Nu chapter provide opportunities for faculty and fellow students to interact outside the classroom, serve as role models and mentors to other students of political science, and strive to foster the high ideals of academic excellence in political science and every area of study.

Professor Sue Davis serves as Advisor for the Denison chapter.

Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society, is the only honor society for college and university students of government in the United States. The number of Pi Sigma Alpha chapters on campuses across the country is rapidly approaching 700. Pi Sigma Alpha is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies.
