Graduate School Information

If you are interested in earning a Masters or a Doctorate in political science, you should begin thinking about programs in your junior year. Some of the things you should consider in your selection are: focus of the program (not only do you need to know if they offer courses in your area of interest but also what is their methodology and do they train mostly academicians, policy folks, both . . . ?, faculty with whom you would like to work, location, funding possibilities, placement record, reputation of the program, and more.

You will need to take the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) for most programs. Applications are often due in the fall or early spring of your senior year and you need to take your GRE's early enough so the results will arrive by the deadline.
