(the Clark and Irma Morrow Pre-Law Scholarship Announcement from 2008)

The Department of Political Science invites applications for the Clark and Irma Morrow Pre-Law Scholarship.  The scholarship is named for, and provided through the generosity of, Denison alumnae Clark and Irma Morrow.  It is intended to honor and support Denison undergraduates who are interested in attending law school after graduation.

To qualify for the scholarship, students must: (a) be sophomores, juniors, or seniors in 2008 – 09; and who, after graduation, (b) plan to a attend a law school accredited by the American Bar Association; and, (c) have at least a 3.2 overall GPA.

In addition to the above criteria, the Department of Political Science will select the scholarship recipient by considering other criteria including: class standing, inclusion on the Dean's list, evidence of high ethical standing, membership in honorary societies (such as Pi Sigma Alpha), leadership in campus organizations, contributions to community organizations (particularly those serving underprivileged citizens in Newark and Licking County), and participation in the administration of justice at any level of government and at Denison.

Applicants should submit by Monday 18 February 2008 a letter of application
to Dr Jim Pletcher, Chair, Department of Political Science.

The application letter should discuss your interest in pursuing a career in law and address the criteria set forth in the previous two paragraphs.  Applicants should also submit a detailed resume indicating participation in campus and community affairs and have an official transcript sent to Dr Pletcher.

Questions should be addressed to:
