About Us
The major in Sociology/Anthropology is designed to meet the educational needs of students who are primarily interested in a liberal arts education and wish to use the disciplines to develop a better cross-cultural understanding of our own society as well as others. Through training in theoretical analysis and the development of research skills, Sociology/Anthropology majors gain a solid practical basis for pursuing careers in law, social work, business, public administration and many other human services professions. Students also are well equipped to pursue graduate study in sociology and anthropology in order to go on in teaching, administration or research areas.
In Sociology/Anthropology you will be able to complete your own original senior research project, using both qualitative and quantitative methods. Many of our students start their research while studying abroad or off-campus in the United States.
