August Orientation concentrates primarily on issues of adjustment and the development of skills, both of which are critical to success in college. After the ceremonial Induction of the Class, parents depart and new students immediately begin their orientation sessions.

The main goals of August Orientation are:

  • To assist students in the development of skills which will increase their ability to perform well in a university-level academic environment. Mini courses in information technology, study skills/time management, wellness and leadership development are among the programs available during August Orientation.
  • To make students aware of the full range of opportunities and resources available at Denison, including student organizations and work-study options.
  • To introduce students to the values and expectations of Denison University as a campus community.

August Orientation for incoming class of 2017 will be held Sunday - Wednesday, August 25 - 28.
