Health Fees

The Health Services Fee covers all evaluations conducted at our facility by university physicians, nurse practitioners and registered nurses.  There is no limit on the number of visits per academic year.  This fee is paid by all full time students.  There are some services available that are not covered by this basic health fee.  Those services, including in-patient care, medications dispensed from our facility, injections, laboratory tests and procedures, office surgery and durable medical supplies are billed to the individual student account.

Health Services will provide information and referral service for students whose conditions are not generally treated by primary care providers.  Students requiring emergency surgery or hospital care are attended by staff physicians at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark.  Health care provided by facilities other than Denison's Health Service is not covered by the health fee.  Many insurance plans will cover these charges if the student submits a claim directly to the insurance provider.

Inquiries about Health Services may be directed to the Director of Health and Counseling Services, the Dean of Students, or the Assistant Director of Health Services.
