Recent and Ongoing Projects

These projects include

  • New window treatments in the Doane Dance Studio to allow for better control of ambient light in this important performance space.
  • Renovations to the Mulberry Lounge making it serve multiple purposes as a learning space, gallery and reception/event area.
  • New furniture for the Higley Lobby area adjacent to First-Year Studies to improve the warmth and appeal of this centrally located space for informal gatherings.
  • The conversion of a less-used map room into a geosciences teaching classroom/lab allowing for a very flexible room layout.
  • Improvements to three electronic classroom spaces in Olin for Mathematics and Computer Science and in the Physics 116 laboratory.
  • Improvements in the ergonomics and layout of the chemistry computer lab known as the MicroCenter, Ebaugh 116.
  • Complete renovation of the chemistry Student Study Area, Ebaugh 212, including carpet, furniture and network ports.
  • Creation of an "Information Center" where librarians and faculty can meet with students in the Art Department's Cleveland Annex.
  • Improvements to the Huffman Service Center to allow the public computer lab to be accessible 24/7.
  • Funding of video technologies for Library's Multimedia Viewing Room (room 204).
  • Renovations to several learning spaces in Gilpatrick House, home of the Denison Honors Program.
  • New classroom lighting in Ebaugh.
  • Creation of a 'reading room' for the Department of History.
  • Mulberry Inter-media eXperimental Lab was a major undertaking in Learning Spaces for 2003-2004.
  • New Fellows Hall classroom seating: view some seating choices.
  • Brighter hallway lighting in Knapp and Fellows Halls
  • New model classrooms in Knapp 308, Fellows 305
  • New student study lounges in Smith and East halls
  • Renovation of the Modern Languages lab (Fellows 201).   Note in particular the tablet arm chairs selected for this project.
  • Augment the renovation of the Sociology/Anthropology seminar room.
  • Creation of the Instructional Resource Center (Fellows 210)
  • Knapp Hall Computer Labs Renovation Project
  • Knapp Amphitheatre Renovation Project has been put on hold indefinitely.
