Summer Scholar Program 2009: Mitchell Legg '10 and Alex Murray '10
"Dye Sensitized Solar Cells"
Chemistry majors Alex Murray ’10 and Mitchell Legg ’10 make up half of a four-person team that contributes to Associate Professor Joe Reczek's research on dye-sensitized solar cells. By creating liquid crystals in the lab, the students attempt to increase the efficiency of this innovative type of solar cell. In time, the research could potentially lead to a new, clean source of energy.
