The Denison Writing Center

Academic Writing Strategy: Make sure that your thesis is clear, manageable, and debatable. If there is any way for a reader to be confused by your thesis, clarify your ideas.

We believe that writing is not a process that occurs in isolation or by a sole individual. Instead, writing is a collective effort that students, instructors, and Writing Consultants engage in together. We work toward this goal with student writers and faculty.

Hours of Operation - During academic semesters, we can be reached at 740-587-5681.

The Writing Center opens on Sunday, Sept. 2 this fall.

When classes begin, the link below will take you to our online scheduler to reserve an appointment with a Writing Consultant.

Scheduler available here August 27.

Appointments in the Writing Center last 30 minutes. If your paper is 6 pages or longer, we recommend scheduling two appointments. Schedule your first session on the hour and the second on the half hour if possible. This will allow you to work with the same consultant throughout your session.

For assistance with making appointments, contact Susan Kanter at kanters@denison.edu.

For questions regarding the Writing Center, please contact Brenda Boyle at boyleb@denison.edu.
