Moving to a Residential Campus

210.jpg

Our distinctive residential experience makes Denison a wonderful place to begin your future. Living on campus with nearly all of our 2,100 students can be a new but rewarding transition. Unlike other schools where everyone is spread out, you will enjoy having a community of peers and faculty next door. Like a small family community, you will have a sense of belonging and support that extends beyond your time here.

Friends and Fun
Like a city within itself, you will enjoy the convenience of having endless social opportunities for interaction with peers and faculty. With everyone nearby, you will have the chance to develop more lifelong friendships. You will be more likely to get involved in extracurricular activities just a few steps away than students who live off-campus or commute from home.

Academic Support
Unlike other schools, where it's often hard to track down your professors or advisors, at Denison you will find the academic support when you need it. With easy access to timely assistance, you will progress well through your education. Students who live on-campus graduate at significantly higher rates than others not having the convenience and support of a residential experience.

Building Your Nest

Living away from home is an adventure that requires a certain amount of preparation. First, you will need to take into consideration your lifestyle preference. We have a number of comfortable, affordable living options including rooms that are single, double, triple, quad, suite, and apartments within our residence halls and houses. After you determine where you're going to live, you will need to come prepared for all sorts of weather and events.

If you will be sharing your room, you'll want to get in touch with your roommate ahead of time to decide how to decorate and to determine who's bringing what in terms of TV, stereo, DVD, rugs, etc. Although the rooms are adequate in size, remember that there is not a lot of storage space for unnecessary items. Additional information regarding housing rules and regulations may be found in the Residence Life Handbook.

Once you're settled in, you'll find that Denison's inviting, dynamic atmosphere is a wonderful place to call home. We look forward to seeing you soon!
