It truly is a small world some days! Danielle Brzezinski '06 was talking with fellow runner, Sean Blomquist '98, before the 2009 American Fisheries Society in Nashville, TN, 5k "Spawning Run" and discovered that they were both Denison graduates!

Danelle Wilbraham '03 and Melanie Houston '04 stopped for a quick photo while on a training ride from Columbus to Granville and back on August 2, 2009. Both are are graduate students at Ohio State University and are training for Pelotonia, a bike tour to raise money for cancer research at Ohio State's James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute. The Pelotonia will take place August 28-30, 2009.

Six Big Red Alums played for the Frogs team in the Supermasters (40+) age bracket at the Vail Shootout and came in 4th place out of 12 teams with wins over the Colorado Lacrosse Club, the Navy Old Goats and the Middlebury team. June, 2008, my wife- Gayle Pearson '78 and I attended the Telluride Bluegrass Festival in Telluride Colorado. It is a wonderfully managed festival which requires everyone to vacate the festival grounds each night. Each morning we would queue up at 6:30 or 7:00 AM in a snake like line through the streets of Telluride. On Sunday morning a friend and I got in line and were given a number of around 350 to get in the gates of the festival at 9:00 AM. The young couple below got in line one or two people behind us and me being a somewhat talkative guy started chatting with everyone around me to pass the time while we were in line. Eventually I discovered that Kip and Tamara were Denison grads and Tamara had a Denison blanket that she had made from her trophy winning NCAC 2001 and 2002 Women’s Softball Champions. Kip and Tamara seemed like another great Denison couple!
