#1 Scots Down Denison Baseball in NCAC Semifinals
Date: May 5, 2007
Location: WOOSTER
Number one seed and top ranked College of Wooster defeated the Big Red in both games of the doubleheader to take the 3-game series 2-0. The loss bumps the Big Red from NCAC tournament action.
The Big Red opened game one carrying over the momentum from an April 27 upset of the Scots. The first three batters reached base and catcher Aidan Lucas (Evanston, Ill./Evanston Township) drew the walk to score Andrew Pakla (Lancaster, Ohio/Lancaster). But that was it for the Big Red, stranding three on base. Wooster would get runs in the bottom of the second and third, and that was all they would need, closing out the game 2-1.
The Scots kept the heat on the Big Red in game two, jumping out to an early lead. They hopped out to 6-1 advantage after four innings and never looked back, winning the game 8-2. The Big Red pitching staff combined to notch 13 strikeouts in the defeat.
