Denison senior pitcher James Clear (Hamilton, Ohio/Badin) was named the North Coast Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week after turning in a complete game victory over Kenyon College on Saturday.  The game one victory helped Denison to a series sweep of the Lords, landing the Big Red in the 2008 NCAC Championship Series this Thursday and Friday.

Clear allowed just one earned run off eight hits while striking out six to improve his record to 6-2.  The win was the 15th in Clear's impressive career at Denison.  That ranks him fifth on the all-time win list at DU.

Clear and the Big red will host Ohio Wesleyan University in a best two out of three series.  Game one is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday (May 8).
