Baseball: Denison claws their way to split with Kenyon

Aidan Lucas was 3-for-3 and earned his sixth save of the season in game two versus Kenyon.
Tim LaBolt (LaGrange, Ill./Lyons Township) forced in the go-ahead after being hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth inning and closer Aidan Lucas (Evanston, Ill./Evanston Twp.) slammed the door in the seventh helping the Big Red to a 5-4 win and a doubleheader split with Kenyon.
Denison took a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the third inning off an RBI single by Lucas and a runs scoring grounder by Park Smith (Warren, N.J./The Pingry School) who would go on to reach base off a throwing error by the third baseman.
Freddy Marino (Shaker Heights, Ohio/University School) was the starter and went three innings. He allowed five hits and no earned runs while striking out one. JD Wyborny (Walnut Creek, Calif./Monte Vista) pitched the next two innings and struck out three. Fellow senior James Clear (Hamilton, Ohio/Badin) pitched the sixth and earned the victory. Lucas fanned two in the seventh for his sixth save of the season.
Lucas was the hitting star for Denison, going 3-for-3 with a double, one run and one RBI. Danny Pritz (Wilmette, Ill./New Trier) was 2-for-4.
In game one Tom Boucher, Geoff Bollier and Nate Fedor combined to hold the Big Red to just three hits in a 3-0 victory for the Lords. Alex Cultice was 2-for-2 with two RBIs.
