Baseball: Muskingum defeats Big Red in New Concord

Muskingum scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and added a run in the seventh and eighth to complete a come from behind, 10-6 win over the Big Red on Sunday at Mose Morehead Field in New Concord, Ohio.
Brock Whiteman drove in the go-ahead run with a two-run double in the sixth. He finished the day 3-for-5 with six RBIs.
Denison starter James Clear pitched five innings and allowed five runs off six hits. He struck out five and was charged with a no-decision. The loss was tagged to freshman Nick Smith who allowed four runs off five hits in two innings. His record dropped to 3-2.
Senior left fielder Tim LaBolt stroked his second home run of the season in the third inning and Park Smith led Denison at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two RBIs.
Muskingum's Adam Taylor earned the win in relief thanks to his 3.1 scoreless innings pitched.
Denison is 24-15 and will face Otterbein College on Monday in their regular season finale. The first pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.
