Baseball: Trinity College pulls off doubleheader sweep on Saturday

The Denison baseball team will return home from Ft. Myers, Fla. with a 7-4 record after a pair of losses on Saturday to Trinity College.
In game on Denison managed only three hits and suffered a 5-0 loss to the Bantams. Park Smith (Warren, N.J./The Pingry School) pitched five innings and allowed five hits and four runs while striking out three. Bobby Giarratani (Winthrop, Mass./Bishop Fenwick) pitched the sixth and allowed one run off two hits.
In the second game of the doubleheader DU suffered a 3-2 loss despite a strong outing from senior starter James Clear (Hamilton, Ohio/Badin). Clear pitched five innings and allowed only two hits, all in the first inning, and struck out four. Alex Horn (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville) was 1-for-3 with an RBI.
Denison will kick off North Coast Athletic Conference West Division play on Friday (March 21) in Springfield, Ohio, against Wittenberg University.
