Baseball: Wooster takes round two from Big Red
Park Smith capped off a tremendous week at the plate with a 3-for-4 day versus Wooster. Smith was 13-for-16 (.813) in four games this week.

The College of Wooster scored two runs in the fifth, one in the sixth and provided the go-ahead run in the seventh to defeat the Denison Big Red, 4-3 on Sunday afternoon from Art Murray Field.
Denison topped the third-ranked Fighting Scots on Saturday, 6-3, but Wooster would even the regular season series on Saturday thanks to a strong start by Matt Barnes and some timely hitting from the middle of the order. Barnes would pitch six innings, allowing three runs off six hits while striking out eight.
DU got on the scoreboard in the second inning when Peter Krieger (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) scored off a Barnes wild pitch. In the fourth Aidan Lucas (Evanston, Ill./Evanston Twp.), who reached via a lead-off walk, would score on an error by Scot shortstop Matthew Johnson.
The Big Red would take a 3-0 lead in the fifth inning after freshman Danny Pritz (Wilmette, Ill./New Trier) would score off another wild pitch.
Denison starter Nick Smith (Mirror Lake, N.H./Holderness) was solid in his 5.2 innings of work. The freshman allowed five hits, three runs, five walks and six strikeouts. Freddy Marino (Shaker Heights, Ohio/University School) and JD Wyborny (Walnut Creek, Calif./Monte Vista) combined to work the final 2.1 innings for Denison.
Park Smith (Warren, N.J./The Pingry School) continued to sizzle at the plate for Denison. The first baseman was 3-for-4 once again, which capped off a week which saw him go 13-for-16 (.813) with three doubles, three runs scored and eight RBIs. Smith also saw his batting average rise from .338 to .425.
Also stroking three hits was freshman Mark Mazur (Pittsburgh, Pa./Seton La Salle) who was making his fourth career start.
Matt Degrand picked up the win for Wooster in relief of Barnes and improved to 3-0. Mark Miller pitched the eighth and ninth to earn his 11th save of the season. The loss was tagged to Marino who's record falls to 2-1.
Denison is 19-10 on the year and will host Washington & Jefferson in a doubleheader on Wednesday (April 16) at 5 p.m.
