Sophomore pitcher and first baseman Park Smith (Warren, N.J./Pingry) has been named to the 2008 Division III Rawlings/ABCA All-Mideast Region team.

At the plate, Smith hit an incredible .414 with 14 doubles, 38 RBI and a slugging percentage of .566 to lead the Big Red to their first NCAC West title since 2005. He led the Big Red in seven offensive categories and was named honorable mention All-NCAC for the second consecutive season.

On the mound, Smith was 4-4 in 45.0 IP and two complete games. One of the complete games was a no-hitter on March 2 against North Park College in Memphis, Tenn.

For his talents as a hitter and pitcher, Smith landed as the Utility Player on the 2008 Honorable Mention All-Mideast Region team.
