Denison Sweeps Wittenberg; Advances to NCAC Tournament

Denison clinched a berth in the 2007 North Coast Athletic Conference tournament with a 6-5, extra-innings victory in game one of their doubleheader with Wittenberg on Monday night.
Denison's Jake Mihalov singled home Justin Held with the game-winner in the bottom of the ninth inning in the opener. Denison, who entered the night needing just one win over the Tigers will travel to The College of Wooster for a best-of-three series beginning on Saturday afternoon.
Troy Testerman pitched 3.2 innings of scoreless relief to earn his fourth win of the season.
In game two Denison completed the sweep behind a masterful two-hit, six strikeout performance by junior James Clear. Denison scored three runs in the bottom of the second and added another run in the sixth to complete the 4-0 victory and run their record to 19-16 overall and 12-4 in the NCAC West.
