Men's Basketball: Denison falls to unbeaten Crusaders

Capital University improved to 4-0 after an 87-63 victory over the Denison Big Red on Sunday afternoon at Livingston Gymnasium in Granville.
The Crusaders opened up a double-digit lead early in the first half and never looked back en route to the 24-point victory. The visitors were led in scoring by 2007-08 Ohio Athletic Conference Player of the Year, Nate Stahl, who finished with a game-high 23 points. Ross Niekamp added 12 points and Ryan Wood chipped in 11 points.
Sophomore Larry Farmer (Gurnee, Ill./Warren Township) scored 19 points and led the team with five rebounds. He was 7-of-11 from the field and 2-of-5 from beyond the arc. Also reaching double figures for Denison was junior Chris Luther (Dayton, Ohio/Oakwood) who finished with 10 points in 26 minutes.
Capital shot 57 percent from the field (33-of-58) and were a blistering 10-for-21 (.476) from 3-point range. The Big Red connected on 40 percent of their field goal tries and just lost the rebounding battle 36-33.
Denison falls to 1-3 with the loss and will be back in action on Wednesday (Dec. 3) when they travel to Marietta College for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off.
