Mike Garabedian scored a career high 20 points and added 9 rebounds against Wooster.

Denison trailed by just four points at halftime but a early second half charge fueled by a flurry of Wooster 3-pointer's would be the difference in the Fighting Scots' 86-66 win on Wednesday night from Livingston Gymnasium.

In the first half of play DU scratched and clawed their way to a four-point deficit despite shooting just 32 percent from the field.  They did it with a stingy defense that forced the Fighting Scots into nine turnovers in the first 20 minutes of action.  Nine points and six rebounds in the first half by Mike Garabedian (LaGrange, Ill./Nazareth Academy) helped the home team carry some momentum into the locker room.

In the opening minutes of the second half the two squads traded baskets and a Garabedian 3-pointer with 15:47 left would cut the Wooster lead to five at 40-35.  Over the next eight minutes the Scots would catch fire, draining five 3-pointers and outscoring the Big Red 33-11 resulting in a 27-point lead with just under seven minutes to play.

Wooster was deadly from long range, connecting on 10-of-21 from 3-point range.  Matt Fegan came off the bench and was 4-for-4 from beyond the arc for 12 points.  Wooster was led in scoring by sophomore Ian Franks' 16 points and seven rebounds.  Nathan Balch chipped in 12 points and Marty Bidwell scored 11 points, all of which came in the second half.

Denison was led by Garabedian who turned in a yeoman's effort in his first career start.  The 6'3" Garabedian was matched against taller defenders all night at the center position but finished with a career-high 20 points and nine rebounds.  He was 5-for-9 from the field and 9-for-10 from the charity stripe.  He also added three blocked shots and two steals in 32 hustle-filled minutes.

Also reaching double-digits in the scoring column for the Big Red were Chris Luther (Dayton, Ohio/Oakwood) and Josh Leuchtag (Houston, Texas/Lamar) who both added 10 points apiece.

DU shot 39 percent from the field and were 73 percent from the free throw line.  They committed 11 turnovers while forcing Wooster into 14 miscues.  The Scots connected on 53 percent of their field goal attempts and hit on 48 percent of their trey attempts.

Denison will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Crawfordsville, Ind. for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off against Wabash College.
