Men's Basketball: Kenyon Defeats Big Red

Brian Elder led all scorers with 15 points at Kenyon.

Three players scored in double-figures and Bryan Yelvington scored 14 points and had 13 rebounds as he led Kenyon College past Denison University 73-53 on Wednesday night at the Kenyon Athletic Center.

Denison senior Brian Elder (Granville, Ohio/Watkins Memorial) had a big offensive night for the Big Red.  Elder led all scorers with 15 points in 23 minutes of action.  He hit 6-of-10 shots from the field and was 3-for-4 from 3-point range.  Following Elder in the scoring column was Chris Eberst (Delaware, Ohio/Hayes) and Caleb McFerren (Zanesville, Ohio/Zanesville) who both chipped in eight points.

Kenyon shot 59 percent from the field and was 7-for-18 from beyond the arc.  The Big Red finished the night shooting 40 percent from the floor, hitting 21-of-54 action shots.  The Lords dominated the boards 41-22.

The Big Red will host Oberlin College on Saturday (Feb. 9) at 3 p.m.
