Men's Basketball: Elder Named NCAC Athlete of the Week

Denison senior post Brian Elder (Granville, Ohio/Watkins Memorial) was named the North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week after helping the Big Red to a 1-1 week that was highlighted by a 78-74 victory over Oberlin College.

Elder started off his week by hitting 6-of-10 shots and 3-of-4 from 3-point range for a team-high 15 points in a loss to Kenyon College.  He followed up that performance with a 14-point, two assist, two steal outing against Oberlin which was highlighted by three fast break lay-ups in the final two minutes of regulation that iced the victory for the Big Red.

For the week, Elder hit 11-of-17 shots from the field and was 4-for-5 from 3-point range.  He is currently third on the team in scoring at 8.8 ppg.

Denison will host The College of Wooster on Wednesday (Feb. 13) and will travel to Hiram College on Saturday (Feb. 16) for a 3 p.m. tilt with the Terriers.
