Men's Basketball: Gators, Raftis Too Much For Big Red

George Raftis scored 19 points and pulled down 17 rebounds as Allegheny rolled past Denison 83-54 on Saturday afternoon in Granville.

Allegheny (9-10) dominated the boards 39-22 and limited Denison to 19 first half points to pick up their fourth North Coast Athletic Conference victory of the season.

Raftis went 7-for-12 from the field and was 5-for-7 from the charity stripe to lead all scorers.  Frontcourt mate Ben Torsney finished with 15 points off a 7-for-9 shooting performance. 

Denison was paced by sophomore guard Caleb McFerren (Zanesville, Ohio/Zanesville) who scored 11 points off 5-of07 shooting in 28 minutes.  Brian Elder (Granville, Ohio/Watkins Memorial) and Chris Luther (Dayton, Ohio/Oakwood) both finished with nine points for the Big Red.

The Big Red will hit the hardwood again on Wednesday (Feb. 6) when they travel to Gambier, Ohio for a 7:30 p.m. match-up with Kenyon College.
