Men's Basketball: Hiram's hot hands bury Big Red

Farmer was 7-11 from the field to lead Denison with 15 points

Date: January 19, 2008
Location: GRANVILLE

Led by point guard Mike Staley's 18 points, the Hiram College Terriers shot 55 percent from the field to run past the Denison Big Red, 78-55.

Leading the Big Red was freshman forward Larry Farmer (Gurnee, Ill./Warren Township). The smooth 6'4" wing scored 14 points on 7-11 shooting, while raking in a team-high five rebounds.

Despite foul trouble that limited him to just 15 minutes of action, center Jeremy Stuhlfauth (Columbus, Ohio/Whetstone) scored nine points inside.

In the absence of junior point guard and leading scorer Pat Sullivan (Loveland, Ohio/Loveland), freshman Tommy Simon (Birmingham, Mich./Seaholm) stepped in to score seven and record two assists.

The Terriers knocked down eight threes in the game while shooting 32-58 from the field (.552). Senior Mike McDevitt scored 16 to go along with Staley's 18.

The Big Red will return to action as they travel to Wooster, Ohio to take on the 19th-ranked Scots. Tip-off will be at 7:30 p.m.
