Men's Basketball: Wooster Streaks Past DU

The College of Wooster came out of the gates hot, drilling nine first half 3-pointers which resulted in a 97-57 victory for the Fighting Scots on Wednesday night at Timken Gymnasium.

Denison, playing without leading scorer Pat Sullivan (Loveland, Ohio/Loveland) for the second consecutive game, was led in scoring by Chris Luther's (Dayton, Ohio/Oakwood) 11 points.  Sophomore Caleb McFerren (Zanesville, Ohio/Zanesville), who was inserted into the starting lineup in Sullivan's absence, tallied 10 points.  Senior forward Tom Perkins (Princeton, N.J./Princeton) recorded career-highs in points and rebounds, finishing with eight points and a team-high six boards.

Wooster shot 56 percent from the field in the first half and knocked down 9-of-13 shots from beyond the arc which resulted in a 54-24 halftime lead.  Brandon Johnson paced the Scots with 25 points in 23 minutes.  James Cooper chipped in 14 points while Mary Bidwell added 12 points and nine rebounds.

Denison will travel to Crawfordsville, Ind. on Saturday (Jan. 26) for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off with Wabash College.
