Pins enters his first season in the dugout for the Big Red as the assistant baseball coach.
A 2004 graduate of Wartburg College, Pins starred on the diamond as a utility player, starting in all 45 games in seven positions his senior season. He posted a career batting average of .337 and fielding percentage of .929 while going 129-51-2 in his four seasons. Pins captured four conference titles, as Wartburg has won the last 11 Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championships.
After graduating from Wartburg, Pins returned to the dugout as assistant coach for the Knights as well as assuming a role as strength and conditioning coach at the college. He also has experience at the high school level, spending a year with Hempstead High School in Dubuque, Iowa.
Pins resides in Reynoldsburg with his wife Tiffany, Denison women's soccer assistant coach.
