Steve Ritter is beginning his third season as the head men's and women's diving coach at Denison. Ritter came to Denison via the Rochester Institute of Technology where he coached one, three-time All-American and several Empire 8 conference champions on both the one and three meter boards.

Last season at Denison was a successful one for the Big Red divers as the men's team swept both the 1 and 3 meter boards at the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships. In addition, he coached current senior Stephen Julka to the NCAA Division III championships. Ritter is a two-time NCAC Men's Diving Coach of the Year.

Ritter began diving at the age of five and competing at the age of seven. He has amassed several state and regional championships on both the one and three meter springboards and was a gold and silver medalist on both three meter and one meter respectively at the Empire State Games in 1982. Ritter continued to dive within AAU and US Diving for the next 12 years before turning professional in 1990 where he performed in show's all over the United States and Europe for the next eight years.

Ritter has coached at the age-group, high school and collegiate levels and has spent time as and assistant coach for the US Elite Diving Academy in Columbus, Ohio. In the summer of 2006 the age-group and senior level team went on to win the combined national title.

He currently resides in Newark.
