Men's Cross Country: Big Red Places 9th at NCAA Regional; Bendtsen Qualifies for nationals

The Denison men's cross country team placed 9th out of 34 teams at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional and senior Joel Bendtsen (Chillicothe, Ohio/Chillicothe) qualified for the NCAA Division III national meet thanks to his seventh place finish out of 245 runners.
Bendtsen logged a time of 25:09.45 and was second out of the out of the seven, individual qualifiers to next week's championship.
Following behind Bendtsen was Grant Russo (Medina, Ohio/Medina) in 22nd place with a time of 25:40.55. Junior Lex Hultquist (Knoxville, Tenn./Webb School) followed in third and 77th overall. Craig Baker (Canton, Ohio/GlenOak), Adam Tewahade (Aurora, Colo./Regis Jesuit), Skyler Mosenthal (Briancliff, N.Y./Briarcilff) and Kindy Tice (Cedarburg, Wis./Marquette University H.S.) rounded out the top-seven finishers for Denison.
The 2007 NCAA Division III Championships are scheduled to take place on Nov. 17 in Northfield, Minn. The event is being hosted by St. Olaf College. This is the second straight season that Bendtsen has qualified for the national championship meet.
