Men's Cross Country: Denison Takes 2nd at NCAC Championships

Senior Joel Bendtsen (Chillicothe, Ohio/Chillicothe) spoiled an all-Allegeny top-5 by placing third overall. In the process Bendtsen helped the Big Red to a second-place finish at the 2007 North Coast Athletic Conference Men's Cross Country Championship hosted by Kenyon College on Saturday.
Bendtsen finished only one second behind second-place Ben Mourer of Allegheny with his time of 25:37. Allegheny's Ryan Place won the event with a time of 25:24. All seven Gator runners logged top-10 finishes as they finished with an impressive 19 points.
DU took second with 84 points and was followed by Wabash at 90 points. Ohio Wesleyan took fourth (104) and Kenyon College was fifth (126).
Following Bendtsen was junior Grant Russo (Medina, Ohio/Medina) and his time of 26:41. Adam Tewahade (Aurora, Colo./Regis Jesuit) was right behind in 15th place overall in 26:42. Placing fourth and fifth for DU was senior Craig Baker (Canton, Ohio/GlenOak) and junior Lex Hultquist (Knoxville, Tenn./Webb School) with times of 27:04 and 27:17, respectively. Junior Skyler Mosenthal (Briarcliff, N.Y./Briarcliff) placed 30th in 27:19 and sophomore Kindy Tice (Cedarburg, Wis./Marquette) rounded out the DU roster with a time of 27:30 that was good for 38th place.
Denison's next event will be the NCAA Great Lakes Regional hosted by Calvin College on Nov. 10.
