Men's Cross Country: DU Men Place 3rd at Cedarville

Led by Grant Russo's (Medina, Ohio/Medina) fifth place performance the Denison men's cross country team turned in an impressive third-place showing at the 17th annual Cedarville Invitational on Saturday at the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course.

Denison was the top finishing Division III institution at the meet.They finished just three points behind Cedarville (68) for third place.The championship went to Shawnee State who totaled 41 points.

Russo's time of 26:04.35 over the 8K course led all DU runners.He was followed closely by Joel Bendtsen (Chillicothe, Ohio/Chillicothe) who placed eighth overall in 26:14.45.  Junior Lex Hultquist (Knoxville, Tenn./Webb School) came in third for Denison and his time of 26:44.68 landed him 18th out of 180 runners.  Sophomore Adam Tewahade (Aurora, Colo./Regis Jesuit) took 20th place in 26:46.27 while Kindy Tice (25th) and Craig Baker (32nd) rounded out the top-six for DU.

The Big Red will compete at the Otterbein Invitational next Saturday, Sept. 22.
