Men's Cross Country Places 3rd at NCAC Championship

Denison junior Joel Bendtsen (Chillicothe, Ohio/Chillicothe) raced to a sixth place finish overall to lead the Denison men's cross country team to a third place finish at the 2006 North Coast Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships on Saturday.
Bendtsen finished in 27:32, just 31 seconds off the winning pace set by Allegheny's Marco Dozzi. Senior Brian Gilson (Cortland, Ohio/JFK) was second for Denison and placed 11th overall with a time of 28:01. Sophomore Grant Russo (Medina, Ohio/Medina) had a good day, logging a time of 28:23 for 18th overall and third on the squad.
Senior Clark Paciorek (Novi, Mich./Northville) was steady as usual with a time of 28:28 to land in the top-20. Sophomore Skyler Mosenthal (Briarcliff, N.Y./Briarcliff) crossed the finish line in 28:41 to place 26th. Senior Jake Rodriguez-Noble (Maumee, Ohio/St. John's Jesuit) and junior Craig Baker (Dayton, Ohio/GlenOak) were sixth and seventh, respectively for Denison.
Allegheny College took first place with 25 points. Ohio Wesleyan was second with 79 points and the Big Red was third with 81 points. Fourth place went to Wabash College with 112 points followed by Oberlin (125), Kenyon (143), Earlham (189), Wooster (204) and Wittenberg (209).
