Football: Barnes Earns Second NCAC Offensive Player of the Week Honor
Mike Barnes earned his second NCAC Offensive Player of the Week honor after leading the Big Red past Kenyon.

Junior quarterback Mike Barnes (Mayfield Heights, Ohio/Mayfield) was named the North Coast Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season after leading Denison to a 51-41 victory over Kenyon College.
Barnes finished the day with 313 yards of total offense and scored five touchdowns with two coming on the ground and three coming through the air. Denison out rushed Kenyon 418-159 as Barnes led the way with 16 carries for 190 yards. He scored on rushing plays of 73 yards and 46 yards.
In the passing game, Barnes was 10-for-14 for 123 yards. He connected on scoring passes of 18 yards to Nick Krempasky, 29 yards to Peter Jarowey and 19 yards to Nick Thompson.
Since moving to the starting quarterback position in week three, Barnes has accounted for 997 yards of total offense (594 passing, 364 rushing, 39 receiving). Denison is 3-5 overall and has won two straight. They will put their winning streak on the line this Saturday when they travel to 10th ranked Wabash College for a 1 p.m. start.
