Men's Golf: Denison takes fourth at Oberlin Invitational

The Denison men's golf team fired a 626 to finish fourth at the Oberlin College Fall Invitational at Oberlin Country Club. The event was the second in the 2008-09 North Coast Athletic Conference Golf Championship Series.

Junior Rob Parks (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) shot an opening round 74 and followed that up with a 76 on the final day of the invitational to pace the Big Red.

Senior Gian Milano (Kenilworth, Ill./New Trier) carded a 155 (78, 77) while sophomore Kyle Bates (Avon Lake, Ohio/Avon Lake) fired a pair of 79s. Rounding out the Denison scoring was senior Tom Dunlap (East Liverpool, Ohio/East Liverpool) who shot a 163 (81, 82) for the two-day event.

Ohio Wesleyan captured the team title with a team total of 581. The Battling Bishops' Joe Nieman turned in a 142 (72-70) to earn medalist honors. OWU and Nieman have taken first in both NCAC Golf Championship Series events so far this season.

The Big Red close out their fall schedule when they travel to the Muskingum Fall Classic on Oct. 5 at EagleSticks Golf Course.
