Men's Golf: Big Red finish eighth at OWU Fall Intercollegiate

The Denison men's golf team finished eighth at the Ohio Wesleyan University Fall Intercollegiate on Tuesday at Oakhaven Golf Club in Delaware, Ohio. The Big Red fired a 655 as a team in the 36-hole event.
The DU lineup compiled of all first-year golfers were paced by rookie Connor Monaghan (Garden City, N.Y./The Peddie School), whose 156 (78-78) landed him tied for 22nd overall. Freshmen Sam Kaiser (Zionsville, Ind./Brebeuf Jesuit Prepatory) and Steven Gendart (Lexington, Mass./Lexington) finished tied for 30th and 56th, respectively. Kaiser carded a pair of 79s (158), while Gendart turned in a 169 (87-82). Rounding out the Big Red scoring were sophomore David Erickson (Springfield, Ohio/Springfied Catholic Central) and freshman Jeff Maier (Middlebury, Vt./Middlebury). Erickson shot a 172 (87-85) on the day, and Maier recorded a 173 (88-85).
Denison closes out their fall season at the Hiram Fall Invitational at Hawk's Nest Golf Club on Sept. 26-27. This event will be the second in the 2009-10 North Coast Athletic Conference Golf Championship Series.
