Men's Golf: DU locked in tie for first after first round of Fall Classic

The Denison men's golf team put together their best team effort since April of 2005 and currently are sitting in a tie for first place at their own Denison Fall Classic being played at Granville Golf Course.
The Big Red are locked in a tie with John Carroll at 294 and Otterbein follows in third at 298. Denison's round was made possible by Frank Steinberg (Flemington, N.J./Rutgers Prep) and Kyle Bates' (Avon Lake, Ohio/Avon Lake) even-par rounds of 71. Ryan Brady (Sandusky, Ohio/St. Mary's Central Catholic) and Bryan Kay (Dallas, Texas/Highland Park) followed with 76's and Kenny Smaga rounded out the scoring with a 79.
Pete Lanctot (Winnetka, Ill./Loyola Academy) and Brian Casey (Madison, N.J./Madison), playing as individuals, both fired 76's for Denison as well. The Big Red will tee off with the leaders on Sunday morning beginning at 9:40 a.m.
