Men's Golf: Results from Allegheny Griffin Motor Classic

The Denison men's golf team finished in a tie for fifth place at the Griffin Motors Classic hosted by Allegheny College in Meadville, Pa.

Denison tied with the College of Wooster in the second North Coast Athletic Conference event of the 2007-08 season.  Freshman Kyle Bates tied for 17th place, posting the best finish for a DU player.  He carded rounds of 78 and 75.  Ryan Brady was next with a two-round total of 156 (78, 78).  He was followed closely by Frank Steinberg and Kenny Smaga who both finished at 157.  Steinberg fired a 79 on Saturday and a 78 on Sunday while Smaga posted a 75 on Saturday and followed with an 82 on Sunday.

Allegheny defeated Ohio Wesleyan by eight strokes to win the championship.  Medalist honors went to Allegheny's Bill Wisniewski who shot a tournament-low 68 and a two-over-par 74.
