Men's Golf Places 5th at Muskingum Invitational

The Big Red men's golf team placed fifth out of 11 teams at the Muskingum Invitational from EagleSticks Golf Course on Saturday.
After day one Denison sat in fourth place, 13 strokes off the leader, Baldwin-Wallace College. On Saturday, Denison's total was seven shots higher, resulting in the fifth place finish.
Tom Dunlap (East Liverpool, Ohio/East Liverpool) had a strong start to his spring season after placing eighth out of the 72-player field. He fired a one-over-par, 71 on Friday and followed with a six-over, 76 on Saturday for his 147. Kenny Smaga (Hudson, Ohio/Walsh Jesuit) was second with a 153 (77-76) and Ben Davidson (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) followed at 156 (77-79). Denison's fourth and final score was provided by Frank Steinberg (Flemington, N.J./Rutgers Prep) at 164 (81-83).
Denison will host the Ted Barclay Spring Invitational on April 7-8 at Granville Golf Course.
